About Us

The Hip Hound began as an inspiration for a positive, creative, and fulfilling life change. The store was created with an abundance of love and energy to share my passion for dogs.

My roots lie in the mountains of Montana where I grew up surrounded by a variety of furry creatures. University life lacked that faithful companion until my second year when I rescued Lady from the pound. Several years later my friend seemed to think I'd be the perfect mom for one of her puppies. Malcolm is now my faithful companion and the inspiration for my store. Since Lady passed, I decided we needed some excitement in the family... Bentley is the latest addition! He is my my large loveable licking lapdog! As my pet family has grown, so has my desire to help dogs live healthy and happy lives.

My vision for The Hip Hound is to create a unique boutique that will provide the best quality food, treats, and accessories for the community. Dogs have a way of putting smiles on our faces and bring out the best in us... and deserve nothing less!
